Renaissance Regional & Grad Show

We are excited to announce the 11th Annual Renaissance Regional Art Exhibition and 3rd Annual Graduate Exhibition opening this Friday, August 21st from 6-7:30pm. The Visual Arts Gallery and East Wing Gallery features the work of artists residing in the Southeast. Andee Rudloff, local artist and Community Relations Manager at the Frist Center, served as juror for this annual competition choosing about 50 pieces from 158 entries. Media such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and more represents such states as Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky and Louisiana.

Artists exhibiting are Eleanor Baker, Jan Batts, Sandy Burr, Robmat Butler, Randy Carden, Aletha Carr, Joy Deann Carson, Ellie Caudill, Mitchell Chamberlain, Sharon Charney, Mary Dixon, David Farmerie, Joy Fenton, Michael Furlong, Joe Gayden, Jennifer Georgescu, Elissa Robin Graff, Brandt Hardin, Faith Heitzer, B. Bailey Hutchinson, Mark Evan Ivie, Bob Jones, Breanna Elise King, Connie Livingston-Dunn, Brandon Long, Carol Harding McTyre, Thomas Nawrocki, Alison Oakes, Robert Bruce Scott, Diane Shaw, Jim Spitler, Denise Stewart-Sanabria, Toyzini, Anne Williams and Laura Wilson.


























The North Wing Gallery will present the 3rd Annual Gradu
ate Exhibition, a contemporary installation by artist Ben Utigard. A recent MFA graduate from Memphis College of Art, Utigard paints and creates collages and then cuts out pieces from the finished canvas using a band saw. These pieces form Utigard's Cut-Out Painting Series and installation that functions as an explosion of art on the walls.

A free opening with the amazing artists will take place from 6-7:30pm on Friday, August 21st. The exhibit runs through October 24th so if you can't make it to the opening you have plenty of time to catch this dynamic show!
